Mrs. Becky Aldinger
From a young age my parents instilled in me the importance of God’s Word in my life. This has stuck with me throughout my life and I am very thankful to both of them. I am grateful that I have the opportunity to assist parents in teaching their children the value of God’s Word in their lives each day as we gather at Star of Bethlehem.
My early years were spent in Green Bay, WI where I attended St. Marks Lutheran School. Living
only blocks from Lambeau Field I became a true Packer fan, which still holds true today. In my later
elementary school years my family moved to Hudson, WI where I attended public school for my middle
school and high school years. I knew that I wanted to be a teacher, so I attended MLC in New Ulm, MN.
Upon graduating the Lord sent me to Milwaukee, WI where I taught Kindergarten and Preschool. The
smiling faces of those five year olds was always a great way to start the day. We had many adventures
together. Two years later the Lord brought me to Star of Bethlehem. In my time here I have taught a
variety of grade levels as the needs of the school has changed. I am thankful for all of the children that
have come through my classroom and touched my life.
In the year 2000, Star of Bethlehem offered a two year Bible class that dug deep into Scripture,
called “God’s Ways”. It was in this Bible class that I met my husband. God has now blessed our family
with a son that we adopted from China in 2010. He is truly a blessing.
My love for music has led me to take on the role of Worship Music Coordinator at Star of Bethlehem.
This allows me the opportunity to work with our many talented singers and instrumentalists in
preparing for our weekly worship services. I enjoy this immensely.

A typical day in our classroom includes a morning greeting and devotion.
This is followed by our calendar time.
We then turn our focus to God's Word as we cover a lesson from the Bible.
Math is taught using a hands-on, problem solving approach. We use the My Math series.
Our reading time uses Superkids. Kindergarten children learn the letters of the alphabet and how to blend the letter sounds to decode words.
The children read decodable texts. As their reading confidence increases students work in small groups at their levels to boost their reading skills.
In Writing, the students progress through developmental stages of writing. The children are praised and encouraged for all attempts and accomplishments in writing.
Social Studies curriculum focuses on the students and how they relate to others in their families, classroom, school, and community.
The kindergarten Science curriculum focuses on developing an awareness of the world in which we live. A STEM Launch unit is used that focuses on structure and function.
