Mrs. Kris Witt
As long as I can remember I have wanted to be a teacher! My Christian upbringing and Lutheran education left no doubt I wanted to be a Christian day school teacher. My first experience teaching preschool age children was at a summer camp following my Senior year of high school. It was that summer I knew the plans the Lord had for me. A Lutheran Preschool Teacher.
I feel so blessed to have been a part of this preschool program for the past 17 years, and it's sharing God's love that brings me the greatest joy! It is my prayer we will grow together in His love, model His love through our thoughts, words, and actions, and share His love for us with others.
Meeting new families each year is also truely a gift. Getting to know them is an honor!
I love preschoolers! Everything about them! Their smiles, stories, unconditional love, and endless supply of hugs. Their random acts of kindness warms my heart everyday. I love seeing the joy they show when mastering a new skill or discovering a new one. I enjoy watching their successes, helping with their struggles and seeing them grow from "the inside out."
I grew up in Franklin with my parents and two sisters. I attended a Lutheran grade school and graduated from Wisconsin Lutheran High School in 1981. In '84, I married my husband, Bill (whom I met in high school), and we moved to Hawaii as a part of his commitment to the U.S. Navy. While in Hawaii, I taught preschool at Our Savior Lutheran School and graduated from the University of Hawaii (Honolulu) with a degree in Early Childhood Education.
The birth of our son in '87 brought us home to be closer to our families. I took time off to raise our family, which grew to three children...Billy, Chelsea, and Katie.
In 1997, I was called to start up the preschool program here at Star. Star of Bethlehem has been our Church home for 18 years! The early years were busy years for our family with teaching and being involved in all of our children's sports/activities at Star, followed by their years at Wisconsin Lutheran High School. We enjoyed those years and have made many memories and life-long friends.
We enjoy going to the cottage, boating, long rides on the motorcycle, and traveling to Iowa to watch our daughter, Katie, play collegiate soccer. We cherish the time we can all be together.
While we are "empty nesters" now, we are looking forward to the next chapter of our lives!
We reside in the Town of Waukesha.

Our program is based on the philosophy that young children learn best by doing. By providing a well planned classroom as well as a rich environment to explore, discover, and create while engaging all of their senses, we are allowing them to learn in ways that are natural to them.
Our purpose is to provide a Christian atmosphere for young to grow spiritually, physically, emotionally, socially, creatively, and intellectually while best preparing them for kindergarten.
