 Finance Team Leader (Treasurer)

I was elected Financial Secretary in January of 2015.  The Financial Secretary presides over the Finance Committee and is responsible for the monies received by the congregation. The Financial Secretary is also responsible for preparing Star’s Annual Budget. 
Personal Background
Joy and I were married in 1970 have 3 children and 11 grandchildren. We joined the Star family in 1982. Joy volunteers twice a week in the first grade classroom and previously assisted in the pre-school program. Our children went through Star of Bethlehem Lutheran Elementary School and either Northwestern Preparatory School (Luther Prep) in Watertown or Wisconsin Lutheran High School. They all graduated from Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minnesota.
Education and Experience
I am a retired Certified Public Accountant. From 2000 to 2013 I was the Director of Finance & Treasurer for the City of Franklin, Franklin Wisconsin. From 1998 to 2000 I operated a financial management company. I was the Director of Finance and Treasurer of Wisconsin Evangelical Luthheran Synod from 1982 to 1997.  From 1970 to 1982 I served as Controller for a plumbing manufacturer.  From 1968 to 1970 I served with Arthur Young & Company in public accounting.
I have served on the Board of Elders for Star of Bethlehem for six years, served on the Long Range Planning Committee, and have served on the Finance Committee since 1983 administering the Member Investment Program.
