Sundays—January 9th through January 30th
“Be Prepared to Answer: Navigating Satan's Playground”

Taught by Mr. Keith Bowe—Former teacher at Wisconsin Lutheran High School

The increasing influence of non-Christian worldviews and religions in our world today puts Christians in the middle of Satan's playground. It's vital for Christians to strategically navigate Satan's playground in an effort to protect souls and plant gospel seeds with those who do not believe in the Jesus of Scripture. Each of our four sessions will look at a different religion/worldview through the lens of God's Word. Participants will contrast Biblical truth with the basics of these worldviews and grow in their appreciation of God's grace and discuss ways to share the gospel.

Fridays—Starting January 7th @ 8:00 a.m.
“The Life of Christ”

Taught by Pastor Schwartz
The class will pick up where we left off just before Christmas.

Wednesdays—January 12th through February 23rd @ 7:00 p.m.
“Deeper Dive Bible Study: The Sacraments”

Taught by Pastor Nitz
In this class we will examine some of the false teachings about the Sacraments that arose over the two centuries since they were instituted by Christ, consider why it is what we believe about the two Sacraments we have, and rejoice in the comfort they bring us.  Participants in the class will be able to attend “in-person” or virtually via Zoom.

You can also access the materials we will be going through this evening using this Google Link.

Thursdays—Starting January 13th @ 9:00 a.m. – Women’s Bible Study:
“The Heart of Jesus: Women in the Gospel of Luke.”

Taught by Betty Bilitz
Please take note that this class was originally scheduled to begin on Thursday, January 6th, but the start date was pushed back one week to the 13th because a number of the women who had been attending Women’s Bible Study prior to Christmas were not able to be there on the 6th, and to allow participants in the class a better chance of getting a copy of the book in time for the beginning of class.  The church will be purchasing the workbooks that go along with the study.

Looking Ahead to February and Beyond

Plans are being made to offer the next session of Jesus: Untangled, our Bible basics class, beginning sometime in February.  Keep watch for further announcements about this class.  Please contact Pastor Schwartz if you are interested or simply want to know more.

Our Sunday morning Bible Study for February has a practical side.  We have been calling for a third pastor since June.  (Our next Call Meeting is actually scheduled for Tuesday, January 11th at 6:30 p.m.)  We realize that some people are frustrated by what seems to be a long process without any assurances.  At the 2021 Synod Convention, the Conference of Presidents was encouraged to help congregations in the WELS better understand why we do things a certain way.  This resulted in a Bible Study entitled Called to Serve: A Discussion about the Divine Call, which we will be going through on Sunday mornings during the month of February.

In February, plans are underway to once again offer a secondary Bible Study on Sunday mornings, directed towards parents of younger children.  We hope that you will be able to join us and that you might gain some practical Scripturally-based ideas to help you as a parent make your home everything that God wants it to be.

We also have a wonderful opportunity to be led in Bible study in March by Professor Michael Berg who teaches at Wisconsin Lutheran College.  He will be leading us in a discussion on Vocation, which is a fitting follow-up to our February study which dives into the subject of Public Ministry.

Join us for Adult Bible Class!
You'll be glad you did!
