Music at Star

Adult Mixed Choir
Our Adult Choir offers members an opportunity to make use of their musical talents, as they join with others to sing God’s praises each week. The choir sings for all festival services as well as other services throughout the year. Practices are held each Wednesday from 7:00 - 8:00 pm.

Our director, Becky Aldinger, says, “It’s a delight to work with the choir members each week as we strive to learn each song for God’s glory.”

Currently the Mixed Choir has 35+ members. Any confirmed member of our congregation is invited to join us.

Men’s Choir
The Men’s Choir members feel privileged to be able to share their God-given gifts during our worship services. The men sing and rehearse on a seasonal schedule which usually includes the Thanksgiving, Advent and Christmas season and the Lenten, Easter and Pentecost services.

Any confirmed male WELS member who enjoys singing in harmony is welcome to participate with the Men’s Choir. The group usually has 17+ members and is under the direction of Chip Tesch. 

Hand Bells
Star presently has three octaves of hand bells and two octaves of hand chimes. Our music enhances our worship services from October through May. Practice is held on Tuesdays from 6:30 - 7:30 pm in church. We have a wonderful group of dedicated ringers who find much joy and satisfaction from participating in this group. As more handbells are added to our collection, more ringers are needed. If you've had some musical training and might be interested in experiencing the joy of ringing, please contact Jan Fleming.

Praise Band 
The Praise Band at Star of Bethlehem is a group of members with various musical talents including, vocalists, guitar (acoustic, electric, and bass), piano/ keyboard, violin, and drums/percussion. They use these talents given by God to praise and honor Him in a “contemporary” style. The band is open to any confirmed member who has a musical talent and is able to commit to the time needed for practices. 

Brass Ensemble
Star of Bethlehem is blessed to have many brass players who share their God-given talents by enhancing worship services throughout the church year. If you're interested in having more information, please contact Becky Aldinger.

Organ/Piano
Star's refurbished pipe organ is a joy to play and another wonderful way in which to enhance worship services. We also have an outstanding grand piano that is used during many of our services. Star is blessed to have a group of very dedicated musicians. 

Other Instrumentalists
Star is blessed with many fine and talented musicians. Some enhance our worship services by playing a solo instrument, others play in a group setting. All are appreciated!
