Some Christian Giving Guidelines

Attitude:  Give thankfully, joyfully and freely.

2 Corinthians 9:7 Each person should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

Priority:  Give to the LORD first.

1 Corinthians 16:2 On the first day of every week, each one of you should set aside a sum of money…

Percentage:  Select a percentage of income with which to honor the LORD.

1 Corinthians 16:2  …each one of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with his income, saving it up, so that when I come no collections will have to be made.

Progressive:  Aim to grow your giving year to year.

2 Corinthians 8:7 But since you excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in the love we have kindled in you—see that you also excel in this grace of giving.

Trust:  Trust that as you worship God with your offerings he will supply your needs.

2 Corinthains 9:8 And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.

Motivation:  Christians give because God has given us so much.

2 Corinthians 8:9 For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich.

We pray that God will use the Gospel to move our hearts to give generously.  We are not giving offerings to a budget but to God, from whom all blessings flow.

"Our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ." ~ Philippians 3:20
