I have been privledged to volunteer in my own children's classrooms as well as serve as a substitute teacher here at Star for the past three years.  This year I am blessed to be serving in a one-year call as the 8th grade homeroom teacher along with teaching language arts for grades 5-8 and physical education for grades 4-8.  It is such a joy being back in the classroom and sharing Jesus with my students each day!

Personal Background:

I grew up in "cow country," about 15 minutes south of Green Bay.  I was blessed to receive a Christian education for all of my schooling.  My elementary school was a very small, two-roomed school called St. John's (in the town of Gibson).  From there I went to Manitowoc Lutheran High School.  I had known since I was in the second grade that I wanted to be a Lutheran school teacher; therefore, I headed up to New Ulm, MN, to attend Martin Luther College after my high school graduation.

Upon graduating from college in 2002, I was called to Peace Lutheran School in Granger, IN, to teach grades 1-4.  It was a challenging call; however, I was blessed to work with amazing students and their great families.  I am grateful to still be in touch with many of them!  In 2004 I was called to Apostles Lutheran School in San Jose, CA, to teach 5th grade and coach volleyball and basketball.  This was my dream call, and I was blessed to serve at Apostles for 9 years!  It was while teaching at Apostles that I met my husband, Eric, and were our two children, Brooklyn and Brayden, were born.  I quit teaching in 2013 when Brooklyn was born and had the joy of beting a stay-at-home mom until just this school year.  In 2015, Eric accepted a call to Zion Lutheran School in South Milwaukee, WI, so our young family moved across the country.  After three years at Zion, Eric accepted the call to Star of Bethlehem.  During my years at home with my children, I was able to be a substitute teacher at my husband's schools.

Outside of school, my favorite things is to spend time with my family.  It's been so much fun watching my children grow, and now it's so enjoyable attending the different activities that they are involved with.  I also enjoy reading, cooking, traveling, sports, and camping.
