Ms. Janna Reinhard

 8th Grade Teacher

I feel so blessed and excited to serve as 8th Grade Teacher at Star of Bethlehem.  I also teach English to grades 5-8.  Star has been an absolute blessing to my own children and I feel privileged to be part of an amazing ministry and staff.

I was born and raised in Caledonia, WI and my middle school years were spent in the Bayview Area where I was confirmed at St. Lucas Lutheran.  I graduated from Franklin Highschool in 1999 and was off to Martin Luther College.  While I enjoyed my time and the friendships I made at MLC, I ended up graduating from University of Minnesota, Mankato in 2004.  Since graduating I have lived in Spring Hill, TN, Mandan, ND and Duluth, MN.

I am blessed with 3 children; Spencer, Adelynn and Grady.  We love to camp, hike, bike, day trip, basically anything to explore God's creation.

"I do, we do, you do" is the approach taken for Writing.  I feel very strongly that my job is to not just teach that writing is a process but to SHOW the process in order to build confidence and skills.  Modeling and using mentor texts is the single most important thing I can do to help student writers.  This allows writers to not only see strong examples but also that sometimes we mess up and start over, and that's ok.  Writing is not done when it's done.  We will work to take our time and realize that when we think we are done, that's when the most powerful part of editing and revising comes into play.
